Student Summit

Restorative Practices 2-Day Event

Student Leaders. Bold Voices. Better Schools.

Why Students? Why Now?

Let’s be honest, school culture won’t shift without students.

Restorative Practices is more than adult-led circles. It’s a mindset, a skillset, and a structure for building relationships, repairing harm, and creating schools where every young person feels seen, heard, and valued. And who better to lead that charge than the students themselves?

This Summit is a powerful investment in the voices that define your school culture. Students will:

  • Learn the why and how of Restorative Practices

  • Explore what belonging, accountability, and connection really look like

  • Reflect on what’s working, and what’s not, at their school

  • Step into leadership and bring new ideas home

What to Expect

The Restorative Practices Student Summit is a dynamic, hands-on training adapted from the adult foundational RP training your staff may have experienced. It is designed to empower students with the skills, language, and confidence they need to lead Restorative Practices in
their school communities.

Students will:

  • Engage in interactive activities and real conversations that spark change

  • Practice key RP skills like affective statements and community-building circles

  • Build connections with peers and adults while exploring solutions for school-wide challenges

  • Leave with practical tools they can apply immediately to improve culture and climate

  • They’ll walk away feeling seen, stretched, and ready to take action.

The Who

We’re not just looking for the typical student leaders here. We’re looking for the students who inspire, the ones who may not always be in the spotlight but have big ideas, bold dreams, and the heart to lead change.

We want students who are:

  • Natural catalysts for change, the ones who spark ideas and inspire others to follow. They might not always be front and center, but their energy is undeniable.

  • Thinkers and doers, they’re the ones who see what’s not working, and they’re already thinking about how to make it better. These students are solution-oriented and ready to lead by example.

  • Empathetic visionaries, they understand what it means to belong and can see the power of connection and respect in creating a school that truly feels like home for everyone.

  • Resilient and real, these students have weathered storms and come out the other side stronger. They’re not afraid to speak their truth, and they understand the importance of lifting others up along the way.

  • Leaders in the making, they may not always wear the “leader” title, but their actions and ideas make them natural role models. They don’t wait for permission; they just go out and create.

These students get it. They understand that culture isn’t just about rules; it’s about the people, the connections, and the way we make each other feel. They’re ready to be the drivers of change and help shape a future where Restorative Practices aren’t just a set of strategies; they’re the heart of how everyone in the school shows up, connects, and grows.

We’re looking for 15-30 students per district, and a few Restorative Practices Champions, adults who are there to support, amplify, and help turn these students’ voices into action. Together, we’ll create something unstoppable.

All participants and chaperones receive lunch, snacks, and a t-shirt.
